IPF Approved Powerlifting Gear — Stoic Performance
Stoic Gear on the IPF Approved Equipment List
Stoic Performance is an approved manufacturer on the International Powerlifting Federation equipment list. Our belts, knee sleeves, wrist wraps, and singlets are permitted for use at IPF, USAPL, and Powerlifting America sanctioned competitions.
What IPF approval actually means
The IPF does not just specify equipment dimensions — it approves specific manufacturers. A belt can meet every technical specification (correct width, correct thickness, correct material) and still be illegal for competition if the brand is not on the approved list. Equipment must come from an approved manufacturer to be permitted at IPF, USAPL, and Powerlifting America meets.
This matters because it removes a variable you don't want at a meet. You can show up knowing your gear will pass. The approved list is verified before every national and international competition.
Stoic is on the approved list for the 2023–2026 cycle, valid through December 31, 2026. The following Stoic products are permitted for IPF-sanctioned competition.
When approval matters — and when it doesn't
IPF-approved manufacturer status is required at: IPF international championships, USAPL national championships, and equipped division events within USAPL. At local and regional USAPL meets, meet directors often have discretion and may permit gear that meets specifications regardless of manufacturer. Check with your meet director.
USPA has its own approved equipment list, which is broader than the IPF list. Most major brands are included, and Stoic gear meets USPA specifications. If you compete exclusively in USPA, manufacturer approval is less restrictive — but the same physical specs apply.

Full grain leather, 10mm thickness throughout, 4 inches wide with no taper. The standard competition belt for raw and classic powerlifting. Meets IPF belt width and thickness requirements. Breaks in to your body and stays rigid over time.
Shop the 10mm Belt →Full grain leather, 13mm thickness, lever closure. For experienced lifters who want maximum rigidity and fastest setup between attempts. At 13mm, the lever earns its place — closing a prong at maximum tightness becomes genuinely effortful. IPF and USAPL compliant.
Shop the 13mm Lever Belt →Same 13mm thickness as the lever, with a single prong closure for lifters who prefer the adjustability and security of a buckle. Full grain leather throughout. IPF and USAPL compliant.
Shop the 13mm Prong Belt →7mm neoprene, 30cm length. Dense construction built for squats and deadlifts under heavy load. Purpose-built seam with minimal stitching. Meets IPF sleeve thickness and length maximums. Available in multiple colorways — all carry the same approval.
Shop Knee Sleeves →Available in 18", 24", and 36" lengths — all within IPF maximum wrap length. Reinforced thumb loops and quality hook-and-loop closure. Use for bench press and overhead work. Available in all colorways.
Shop Wrist Wraps →Competition singlets in standard, Black Label, Bloodline, and Navy colorways. Heavy-weight compression fabric with non-reflective matte outer finish. Cut for full squat depth. IPF and USAPL compliant across all colorways.
Shop Singlets →How equipment approval differs by federation

Common questions about competition gear
It depends on the federation and the level of the meet. IPF-approved manufacturer status is required at IPF international events and USAPL/Powerlifting America national championships. Local and regional meets vary — many run on specification compliance rather than approved manufacturer lists. USPA has its own broader list. If you are unsure, ask your meet director before the event.
Cross-reference your equipment against the current approved list on powerlifting.sport. Approved lists are updated periodically — a brand approved last year may not appear on the current list. Download the PDF directly from the IPF website rather than relying on third-party summaries. When in doubt, email your federation before the meet rather than finding out at equipment check.
The 6.5mm belt is built for training rather than competition. IPF approvals specify products by model — if you intend to compete, use the 10mm or 13mm, which are the standard competition thicknesses and confirmed on the Stoic approved listing.
Yes. IPF approval covers the product model across colorways. The Bloodline and Black Label knee sleeves, wrist wraps, and singlets are the same construction as the standard colorway — the approval is not color-specific.
In IPF raw (now called "classic"), lifters wear a singlet, belt, knee sleeves, and wrist wraps. No supportive equipment (squat suits, bench shirts, knee wraps) is permitted. Classic powerlifting is what most recreational and competitive lifters compete in. Equipped divisions allow additional supportive gear and have different equipment requirements entirely.
No. Elbow sleeves are not permitted in IPF or USAPL/Powerlifting America competition. USPA allows elbow sleeves during the squat. If you compete in USPA, the Stoic Elbow Sleeves and Compression Cuffs are legal for that purpose — but not in IPF-affiliated meets.
All Stoic competition gear is available individually or across the full Bloodline and Black Label colorways for lifters who want a matched set at the platform.
